Vapour blasting

Restore your parts better than new. Vapour blasting (also known as wet blasting, aqua blasting or vapour honing) brings a safe, non-invasive resurfacing of your parts. Using a slurry of glass beads and water, the process gently removes all dirt and grime and delivers a finish that will astound you.

The ultimate in fast, dustless cleaning.

Removes rust, paint, oil & grease, and other contaminants while leaving intact the underlying substrate (metal, plastic, wood etc).

Suitable for auto parts, graffiti removal. and many other needs.

FAQ

  • Before sending your parts to us, clean off any major dirt and grease as an extra charge may apply if parts need to be cleaned before we can perform ultra sonic cleaning or vapour blasting.

Remove any studs, seals or bearings you don't want cleaned. If they are left in, we'll assume they are to be cleaned.

  • Metal parts, especially cast iron or steel, can be prone to rust up or oxidise after cleaning. Where your part has been vapour blasted, we recommend you clean out oil ways and blow these out with an air compressor (or canned air like CRC Air Duster).

You can keep the condition of your newly cleaned parts by using various products that are easily available at your local supply store. We recommend CRC LanoCote (waterproofing) and CRC Long Life (anti-rust).

  • Classic Auto Parts Cleaning was started by motorcycle and classic car enthusiast Alan Davis, after challenges in just finding local suppliers of these services. Alan has been involved in restoration of old metal for four decades, first restoring a 1952 AJS 350 single. His personal vehicles have included: a 1972 Triumph Daytona 500, a Holden Monaro 1969, Ford Fairmont 1972, 1999 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy (with 1550 ci Sputhe motor) and he still owns a 1952 Matchless 3GL, 1974 Triumph Bonneville 750 T140, 1975 Norton Commando 850, a 2006 Harley-Davidson Street Glide and a 1966 Mustang 289 V8.

Alan gets it. Not everyone does. He understands and cares for your classic parts (whether old school or contemporary). He will care for your parts like they were his very own and refurbish them to the highest possible standard, carefully returning them to you ready for their next phase of life.
